Scott Wilson, a very famous Creative Director, in 2007 founded MINIMAL, a design studio in Chicago. In 2010 he decided to start a Crowdfunding campaign on an American website to raise funds to produce a special-strap to convert an Apple iPod nano into a multi-function watch.
The goal was to reach $ 15,000 to cover all the production costs. On 16 November 2010 the Crowdfunding campaign started.
"TikTok LunaTik - Touch Watch Kits" exceeded all the expectations: after 30 days, the campaign ended with a raised sum of $ 942,578. 13.512 donors believed in the project!
The success of TikTok + LunaTik immediately confirmed that Crowdfunding is an effective financing system for designers and inventors.
Scott Wilson has won over 60 international design awards, including the prestigious Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award for Product Design in 2012.
His works have been exhibited in many Museums such as MoMA, MCA, Cooper-Hewitt's National Design Triennial and the Chicago Art Institute. Wilson’s name has appeared in numerous publications: ID Magazine's Top 40, TIME Magazine's Style + design100, WIRED Magazine and Fast Company's Masters of Design, as one of the 50 most influential designers of America.
The company Lunatik believed in a good idea, a good design, a good advertising and the community believed in Lunatik.
