Captain James Watt and Martin Dickie in 2007 founded a craft brewery in Fraserburgh, Scotland. In 2009 they became the first European airline company to make an initial on-line public offering (IPO), collecting £750,000 in 5 months.
In 2011, they started a new IPO, collecting £ 500,000 in 2 days and over 1 million in 4 weeks.
They said: We are proud that BrewDog as a small company is an alternative, a business anti-business, owned by people who enjoy our beers. In our company, there are a lot of people who passionately care about good beer. In 2009, we became the first company in Europe to sell online with a system that is fully authorized by the Financial Services Authority.
Over 6.500 people invested in "Equity for Punks".
The business model works.
In the last 4 years we have grown more and more. Our strategy is to short the distance between us and the people who drink our beer, "Equity for Punks" has this philosophy.
